Ex- Physician Accused of Sexual Assault Allegations Against 38 Patients
Legal authorities report that a former doctor has been charged with carrying out sexual assaults against thirty-eight individuals who were patients.
The Serious Allegations
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of dozens of sexual offences – some of which involve acts against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021.
One deputy chief CPS official stated, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to assist a detailed and complex investigation, carefully reviewing the evidence to determine that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
Scope of the Police Inquiry
The charges follow what investigators called a “detailed inquiry” into reported assaults at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and Russells Hall hospital.
Spencer is scheduled to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.
List of Offences
Prosecutors said the forty-five charges comprise:
- 15 counts of sexual assault.
- 17 counts of assault by penetration.
- 9 counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- Three counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- One count of attempting to assault by penetration.
