Iranian Forces State Strike on US Base in the Kingdom of Bahrain, During Widespread Retaliatory Strikes.
Iranian forces say they have struck a US naval base in Manama, as the country executed strikes across the region in response for a "massive" and ongoing assault against it by the United States and Israeli forces.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an zone in the area of the headquarters of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The full scale of any damage is not yet known and the American officials has remained silent.
Airspace Engagements
Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Kuwait - all home to US military bases - reported they have shot down incoming projectiles in their territorial skies.
In Doha, the Qatari Ministry of Defence said it had intercepted several missiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the Middle East.
Iran's Declared Retaliation
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) declared it was attacking US bases and assets as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the strikes on the Islamic Republic carried out by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday morning.
That US-Israeli operation - executed at around 06:15 GMT - has so far struck areas linked to the Iranian leadership, with US President Donald Trump encouraging the Iranian people to rise up against the leadership.
Regional Fallout
In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israel Defense Forces said it had detected an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The Ministry of Defence of the UAE stated that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems dealt with the missiles with great effectiveness and successfully intercepted a series of missiles," it added.
The statement noted debris landed in a neighborhood in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some property damage and fatalities.
The United States Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
