Both are being considered with the coaching position at the Premiership title holders following the former manager's departure on the start of the week.

McKenna's Stance on The Scottish Club

McKenna referred to the Glasgow giants as "an enormous soccer institution" but emphasized he is "in the middle" of a "long-term project" with the Championship side.

The mid-thirties assumed control of Portman Road in 2021 and led them to the English top flight with consecutive elevations, but they managed only a handful of victories last campaign as they were relegated back to the second division and they presently occupy 12th in England's second tier.

"There have been any of those discussions," the English capital native former Northern Ireland young player said when asked about being on Celtic's shortlist.

"This isn't a matter I have considered seriously, or where any portion of my concentration is currently.

"I possess a unique position here at a remarkable club. And we're at a really important phase of the campaign. Everything outside of that hasn't touched my awareness."

Background and Contractual Details

Reports indicate that the manager would be open to speaking to Celtic given his childhood support.

"Growing up, we all have our affinities," he said when questioned about those. "It's unlikely everyone has to publicly and announce what they were, but naturally it's a really big sports organization."

The coach agreed to a new four-year contract in last year and was questioned about his reported £5m release clause.

"In every manager's contract, there are things," he responded. "I'm unaware what my specific terms are and, were I informed, I wouldn't tell you regardless!

"I tackle this role like I'll be Ipswich manager indefinitely. I know that's not always going to be the case, but I will consistently do my best as while I remain in position."

The Welsh Coach's Position

Bellamy represented the Hoops on temporary transfer from Newcastle United in the mid-2000s, but the former Wales forward is inclined to complete the current World Cup campaign, a stance that would practically eliminate the 46-year-old from immediately taking the Celtic job.

Wales are presently in third place in their World Cup group behind group toppers the Red Devils and second-placed Macedonia.

Wins over Liechtenstein and North Macedonia in November would secure their position in the final qualifying round, but they are virtually assured of reaching that stage, due to a productive European competition performance, even if they not end up their group runners-up.

Considering his present position, Bellamy, whose agreement expires after the European Championship, would not be available until after the play-offs at the earliest.
