Dean Henderson Not a save to make during the opening 45 until called into action from an opponent's curled attempt. One well-timed sliding intervention on Qazim Laci highlighted sharp reading of the game. 6/10

John Stones Pushed up the pitch on the ball, a familiar role previously. On occasion lacked urgency when carrying play with the experiment abandoned at half-time. 6/10

Jude Bellingham Played in an advanced position on the right and contributed with dirty work. Showed glimpses of brilliance but dragged a shot over. Replaced towards the end by Rogers, his competition, after receiving a caution. Seven

The winger Had the team's clearest opportunity of the first half, his strike excellently kept out by Thomas Strakosha. As Quansah hanging back, it fell to him to offer an outlet down the right side yet his deliveries into the box were inconsistent. Replaced late in the match. 6/10

The captain The difference-maker netting 77th and 78th strikes at international level. His first a trademark poacher’s finish and his next a classy headed goal after peeling away away from the opposition. Now 32, he continues to improve and the side are strong contenders in future competitions with him leading the line. 8/10

Eberechi Eze Had difficulty to influence play from the left. Had a good opening after being played in from a teammate yet the keeper made the save. Rashford had a greater an impact in his place. 5
