The Red Devils Set to Secure German Forward Lea Schüller away from Bayern Munich
Manchester United are on the verge of completing the signing for prolific Germany forward Lea Schüller in a permanent move away from Bayern Munich.
A Marquee Signing for United
The forward, with six months remaining on her contract, is known as a prolific goalscorer for her club and the national team. She has scored more than 100 goals for Bayern and scored 54 times in 82 caps for her country. Her arrival will be seen as a major coup for the Women’s Super League side.
Departure from Bayern has been anticipated after she was seen holding back emotions while applauding the German club’s fans following a victory over Bayer Leverkusen this month.
Reports in December that the German women's top flight was set to lose one of its leading forwards. According to reports, the formalities for the transfer are now finalised.
Reliable Goalscoring to Strengthen the Attack
The experienced striker's arrival should represent a major boost to the team's forward line. Schüller has been highly consistent with her finishing in Germany’s top flight.
- Over seven straight seasons, including the last term, she reached at least a double-figures tally of league goals.
- She claimed the Golden Boot in the 2021-22 season with a haul of 16 goals.
Building Steam at Old Trafford
The acquisition of the German international comes at a time when the club seem to be gathering momentum.
Recent on-pitch successes include securing a place in the Champions League knockout phase playoffs in a seeded position and a win in the Conti Cup quarter-finals.

- The acquisition of Swedish defender Hanna Lundkvist on a multi-year deal.
- The contract extension for Japan midfielder Hinata Miyazawa, who has become popular figure since arriving in 2023.
On Miyazawa’s extension, a club official commented: “She has become a vital component to the way we play. Her footballing intelligence and technical ability allows her and the team to control and dictate play from the middle of the park.”
The new defender, having arrived from a side from the American league, added: “You can feel how much the club have grown in the last few years, playing in one of the strongest leagues in the world and now featuring in the top European competition.”
